Humans of Track3D: Scott Kirshe
Meet Scott Kirshe, Track3D’s Director of Strategic Accounts, with a career that’s evolved alongside construction technology.
Very few people have witnessed the digital transformation of construction quite like Scott. Over his career, he has worked with successive generations of construction software, seeing the industry take major leaps while helping teams adapt to new technology. His journey reflects a deep respect for the craft of building and a belief that technology should make that craft simpler and more efficient.
Growing Up in Boston, Finding His Way into Construction Tech
Scott grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by the energy of a city that blends tradition with progress. After high school, he headed south to study at the University of Maryland, not yet knowing that an unexpected opportunity in construction would shape the rest of his career. He got his start in construction technology at United Solutions, back when the industry was just beginning to explore digital workflows.
And right from the beginning, he learned two lessons that became the foundations of his career:
- Never sell on future enhancements. Sell what’s in your bag today.
- Never promise enhancements you don’t directly control.
It was simple but powerful advice, an early reminder that credibility is a salesperson’s greatest currency. Throughout his three-decade career, Scott has worked across every facet of construction software, including estimating, project management, construction accounting, document management, and reality capture. Along the way, he even served as a guest lecturer at Wentworth Institute of Technology, sharing industry insights with future construction professionals.
Joining Track3D: A Conversation That Sparked a New Chapter
Scott’s path eventually led him to Track3D, where he saw an opportunity to be part of something genuinely different in construction technology. He first met Chaitanya NK, Track3D’s co-founder, in a Tampa hotel lobby, and they quickly found common ground in their ideas about construction technology.
“I was very intrigued by NK’s story of how he came to develop Track3D and his passion for creating a tool that was cutting-edge, very useful, and easy to understand,” Scott recalls. “Most software today feels complicated, difficult to implement, and ultimately forgotten. Track3D is the complete opposite.”
A Culture of Team Players Wearing Multiple Hats
Scott describes his experience at Track3D in two words: “Purely AWESOME.”
He explains, “Everyone I work with here is a team player. Because we’re a startup, we wear many different hats throughout the day. Everyone is working toward the same goal, and that is making Track3D a construction technology company that delivers on its promises.”
He adds, “Everyone comes from a different background and brings something unique to the table. And when you need help, whether it’s a quick Slack message or a call, people respond immediately. It’s clear that everyone wants Track3D not just to succeed but to lead the industry with the best technology available.”
On the Job Site: Witnessing Track3D in Action
In his role as Director of Strategic Accounts, Scott spends a lot of time in the field, using his experience and network to help contractors and owners understand how progress tracking can keep projects on schedule and on budget.
“I really enjoy seeing our tool in action on a job site,” he says. “I love it when someone has an AHA! moment, where they realize they’re getting insights and information they didn’t have before. That’s what makes this work so rewarding.”
A Few Things You Might Not Know About Scott
Beyond his professional achievements, Scott has a few personal stories that reflect his curiosity and adventurous spirit:
- He owns a copy of The Wizard of Oz script and has explored every version of the story from every angle.
- He has survived nine hurricanes while living in Florida for 23 years.
- He has climbed every trail on Mount Washington.
For someone who started his career when construction software ran on DOS, Scott brings an invaluable perspective to Track3D. He’s seen trends come and go, watched companies promise the moon and fail to deliver, and learned what truly matters: building tools that work, keeping promises, and helping customers succeed.
