Definition

A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical object, system, or place that stays connected to its real-world counterpart through data. Unlike a static 3D model, a digital twin can be updated with live or regularly refreshed information so it reflects how the real thing looks and behaves over time.

Digital twins can represent something as small as a single machine or as large as an entire building, factory, or city. By combining accurate geometry with sensor readings and other data, they let people monitor, analyse, and even predict how the real asset will perform.

How It Works
