A floor plan is a two-dimensional, top-down drawing of a building level. It shows the arrangement of walls, doors, windows, rooms, and fixtures at a set scale, and is one of the most-used documents on any construction project.

Floor Plan vs. As-Built Drawing
A floor plan shows intended or current layout; an as-built drawing records what was actually constructed, including changes made during the build. As-builts are typically updated floor plans verified against reality-capture data.
